Glenmorangie - A Tale of Cake
Many people compare the GlenDronach 12 Years with a Macallan 12 or Glenlivet 12. The aging of The GlenDronach in the Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso cask adds plenty of finish to it. For some people, the oak spice, combined with a slightly sweet finish, will be attributed to the cask.
Nose - Light hint of vanilla, hints of ginger, pear, spicy, and has sweetness
Palate - Dried fruits, with sherry sweetness, also oak, and definitely rich. If you like to add just a little water, exposing it to air for about 8 minutes, you will experience a light char. Pleasant on the palate.
Finish - I experienced modest heat and a dry, sweet, oaky finish. The water might make it a lighter finish.

Glenmorangie - A Tale of Cake
Glenmorangie has released 'A Tale of Cake'. We enjoy the whisky because it tastes like a wonderful piece of cake, but in liquid form! It is a limited edition and has matured in casks that were used for the Tojaki dessert wine. The maturing in the cask adds a wonderful sweet layer to the Glenmorangie whisky.
Nose - Sweet, vanilla, custard, fruity, some hints of marzipan
Palate - Sweet, vanilla cake, honey and almonds, grapes and pineapple
Finish - Long, with fruits and chocolate, and spicy oak
